We love our association with the senior couples in the ABM!

Fun in Brisbane

Seeing Brisbane on the City Cat was a great way to spend an afternoon.
We rode the boat on a three hour trip up and down the Brisbane River.

One of the many bridges along the river

This beautiful home is built in the authentic Australian style.

                           More bridges
The motorway runs right along the river.
The skyline of Brisbane

This is the Story Bridge that we climbed one late afternoon with other senior missionaries.
We climbed up to both of the towers and back down - great way to see the city.

Can you see the cars below us?
We watched the sunset from the top of the bridge.

Dinner at the Story Hotel - the only way to celebrate!

A Visit to Springbrook National Park

Springbrook National Park is located 60 miles south of Brisbane inland from the Gold Coast.  The view from the top of the mountain is spectacular.  We could see New South Wales to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the east.

Waterfalls dropped the the canyon floor below.
We shared the day of sightseeing
with Elder and Sister Mizukawa.

The water had carved a hole in the rock and continued down the river.
There are so many interesting trees in
the rainforest.  This is a vine that was
twisted around the trunk of the tree.

Missionary Happenings

Coomera Zone Elders and Ward Mission Leaders of Coomera Stake met together
in a powerful Zone Meeting to set goals for the new year.

New missionaries called "Golden Missionaries" meet
for an orientation meeting one week after their arrival in the mission.
Elder Madsen makes a presentation about "Adapting to Missionary Life".
The senior missionaries had a fun
New Year's Eve gathering.

Sister Mizukawa taught us how to make our own sushi roll.

We played some fun games.

We even had sparklers to welcome in 2016.

December 2015

Senior missionary couples from throughout the 10 stakes in
the Brisbane area met for a luncheon and follow up discussion
about the Work of Salvation Focus training just completed.

We received great ideas to continue Hastening the Work.
The ABM Senior couples dined at an outdoor restaurant before attending
a  Christmas program in Brisbane.
Crowds of people come to this manmade beach in South Bank.
A picture of the finale of the Spirit of Christmas program that featured
an orchestra, soloists and choirs.
BRISBANE is spelled in colored letters along the Brisbane River.

Pacific Pines Ward hosted Christmas
Carols and Glow Sticks gathering at the chapel on a Saturday evening for a fun and festive time.  Members of the stake brought chairs and snacks and listened to the music while the kids had fun with the glow sticks.  It will be an annual event - it is a great missionary tool for members to invite their non-member friends to join them.

Christmas Zone Conference tables looked so festive.

Senior couples met at our flat on Christmas Day for brunch, visiting and
sharing memories of Christmases past.

Christmas afternoon we drove to the Springbrook National Park. From the lookout you could see Southport and down the coast.
