Mission

The Australia Brisbane Mission now has 72 hour emergency packs for each missionary.  It was a huge project to collect and organize all the contents.  Many hands made the work easier.  We had a good time as we worked together to prepare 210 backpacks.

Senior couples spearheaded the project.

At Elder and Sister Richin's flat we had an organized system to fit everything in the packs.  Everyone had a job to do.

The senior couples were so grateful for the help from
the full-time elders to lift and carry heavy items.

Young men from the ward took time from their school
break to serve the Australia Brisbane Mission.
We completed the project in 3 hours with so many wonderful workers.
Distribution of the backpacks was done at each zone conference.

Mission

All these pictures were taken at the Toowoomba Flower Festival in September.
We spent a lovely afternoon with the senior couples viewing God's glorious creations.

Mission

We joined the Richins, the Mizukawas, and the Johnsons for a real
Australian experience at a rugby game.
We also went bowling before the game.  Notice that
Elder Mizukawa's head is a bowling ball!

That is the filling for the chicken enchiladas. Below is the finished product that we served for temple day.

Mission Memories

We attended the temple with the Cleveland Zone.
Elder Dunlop and Elder Graves needed our help to deep clean
a missionary fat that will no longer be used. They are pictured
in the very clean kitchen.
We will miss the Gold Coast Zone.  Our assignment
no longer includes that area of the mission.
Elder Madson from Payson Utah finished his mission this week.
Elder Matu and Elder Stephens came to dinner with
our investigator, Telmo, who is being taught by the missionaries.

Elder Murakami in Toowoomba, a lovely city in the mountains west of Brisbane.

Sister Limoni is always happy.  She goes home to Tonga this week.

We spent many hours with Elder Motuliki in the hospital, at our flat and in our zones.  He is a great elder who returns to Tonga.
Elder Kioa is another great elder from Tonga who returns home.

Two more great elders from Tonga - Elder Otuafi and Elder Hakalo also return home this week.  We loved serving with them.

Elder Wu from China leaves for his home, too.

The Cleveland Zone at zone meeting - such great missionaries!
We will miss Elder Hatch from Canada.

Elder Cooper came from North Carolina and goes home to Idaho.
We have come to rely on the office elders for help with various
projects - Elder Westenskow, Elder Campbell and Elder Narramore.
